Tristan Meister

Tristan Meister received his first musical training with the Limburger Domsingknaben and studied choir conducting with Georg Grün, Frieder Bernius and Harald Jers as well as orchestral conducting with Klaus Arp at the Mannheim University of Music.

 

Driven by his passion for choral excellence, Tristan founded the acclaimed chamber choir Vox Quadrata and assumed the role of musical director for both the Hochtaunus youth choir and the Worms chamber ensemble. With the Beethovenchor Ludwigshafen, he brings to life the grandeur of oratorio and choral symphonic works spanning diverse eras. Collaborating seamlessly with esteemed ensembles like the Mannheim Chamber Philharmonic and the German State Philharmonic of Rhineland-Palatinate, Tristan's artistry shines on international stages. In 2024, he took on the role of artistic director for the Chamber Choir of Europe.

 

In 2019, Tristan assumed the artistic direction of the boys' choirs at the Cantus Juvenum Karlsruhe, further enriching his portfolio of achievements. His visionary leadership extends to the Ensemble Vocapella Limburg, where his exceptional conducting garnered accolades, including top honors at prestigious competitions like the German Choir Competition and the International Choir Competition in Varna, Bulgaria.

 

Tristan's musical skill goes beyond borders, earning him invitations to esteemed festivals worldwide and coveted spots in renowned concert series. Recent highlights include captivating performances at the Abu Gosh Music Festival in Israel and the ACDA National Conference in Cincinnati, USA.

 

His discography boasts groundbreaking recordings, including the world's first complete rendition of Max Reger's a cappella men's choir works and the premiere recording of Friedrich Gernsheim's evocative song cycle, "Hafis." Beyond the stage, Tristan shares his expertise as an editor of choral literature, a discerning juror at competitions, and a revered lecturer in choral conducting at esteemed institutions like the Mannheim and Frankfurt am Main music academies.
